A keepsake made by hand, one piece at a time. This square steel ring dish is cut from heavy gauge industrial steel, hammered into shape, brushed, and darkened by hand in Lake Murray, South Carolina.
It is left plain on purpose. No lettering, no personalization. The clean square shape and deep gunmetal finish carry it, which makes it an easy fit for a nightstand, a dresser, a desk, or an entry table. Choose the 3" size for rings and earrings, or the 4" size as a catchall for keys, a watch, and pocket change.
Steel is the traditional metal for the 11th wedding anniversary, so it works as a milestone gift without announcing itself as one. Iron is the traditional material for the 6th anniversary. Steel is iron with a small amount of carbon added for strength, so this dish carries that tradition honestly without pretending to be cast iron. If you are marking six years rather than eleven, it is the same dish.
Each dish begins as a flat sheet of steel. It is cut and hammered into shape by hand, then brushed. The darkening solution is worked over the surface with a rag, built up in layers wherever it needs more, until raw steel turns a deep gunmetal gray. The patina takes hold a little differently every time. Some finish closer to charcoal, others closer to a soft pewter gray. Yours will not look exactly like the photographs, and that is the point.

Sizes: The 3" dish is just under 3" x 3" and about 1/2" tall. The 4" dish is approximately 4" x 4" and just under 1" tall. Dimensions vary slightly since each piece is made by hand.
